| DM-BEHOLDEN2003
|
| By
Wyvar Kahn / Entropy and OZ |
And here
we have another port of an old UT map that
works most pleasantly in UT2003, despite having
the old UT textures. It plays well enough,
though, there's grass to hide in, towers to
snipe in and fun to be had.

It's a
bit dark and there's a valley that kills you
for some reason, but that aside, the open
ruins of this cathedral provide an excellent
setting for deathmatch, and for a nice cup
of tea afterwards.

Bloom
is a feast for the eyes, and, even though
it gets a bit cramped at times, the gameplay
isn't bad, either. All the items and weapons
you could ever need are dotted around the
landscape, keeping you well stocked for killing
sprees.

| DM-Blue
Plateau |
| By Nathaniel
Woodland |
Blue Plateau is based outside,
and features lots of shubberys to hide behind,
rock formations to clamber up and a lake to
swim in, should you wish to be picked out
as an easy target by that git with the lightning
gun. |

"OoooOOoh,"
is what we uttered when we first saw this
map; it's gorgeous, shiny and sexy. It's not
just a pretty face, either, Breathe has a
stonking layout and an incredible amount of
rooms to discover.

Calibur
is a bog-standard industrial / futuristic
/ dodgy peeling building / oh-that-looks-a-bit-dull
type maps that stands out due to it's simple
layout, top-banana item placement and all-round
playability.
