November 2002, our leaking tap was finally silenced after
25 weeks of making annoying gurgling noises. It was a
day of celebration that was tinged with sadness. After
all, the annoying gurgling noises have been part of our
lives for so long, they had become an integral part of
our existence. Honestly, we felt empty without them. For
about 20 minutes.
Then we had hot (not tepid until the hot water tank
filled and we could top up) baths for the first time
since June, complete with bubbles, rubber ducks and
no trickling undercurrent of icy cold water.
Super.
The plumber, who was very nice and meant to be returning
'in a couple of days', was a bit late in turning up.
Four weeks, in fact. We did get a letter later on saying
that it should all be repaired by the 8th November,
so I'm not too sure what is going on with SBC's calenders.
They seem confused. If they are having problems keeping
dates, they can get a cute
Shih Tzu Puppy calender from Amazon.
Again, any employees of Stevenage Borough Council who
may have to install new baths and taps could click the
amazon.co.uk link on the left for some handy books on
fixing stuff. Some of them may even tell you the correct
size washer to use so that your hard work does not start
leaking a short time later, neccessitating a web-page
devoted to the out-pouring and metering of water. Always
happy to help, me.
